Way to go!  Keep up the good work. Awesome loss thus far.   It seems bread may be a trigger for you.  Are you a bread lover?

yes, big time!  bread and chocolate.  the more I eat, the more I want!  I'm surprised I haven't gone more overboard than I have so far.  I try to eat more protein so I don't go back outside of mealtime for more.

Protein is the key for sure! It really helps manage your hunger- especially in the beginning. Sounds like you are doing fantastic' and look- on day three you did perfect!!!! Good for you!!

Yep, parts of this get easier every day! I'm very surprised by how simple this is. Now to work on my brain... it thinks it wants more food, and I always have to squash the "feed me!" voices in my head! LOL!

Day 4:
Lunch: Turkey & Swiss Sandwich 4 bites; Snickers 1 bite
Dinner: (in car) whole KIND peanut butter dark chocolate protein bar 5 bites

Day 5: 242.6 lbs.

it is mostly mental.  so if u recognize that and control it you have already won.

Just remember that hunger is good.  it is a sign your body is taking stored fat to use as fuel and thus speeding up weight loss.

Have another awesome 5 bite day!

Day 7... this way of eating is great! Even though I'm still working on my head wanting more food, it's not as rough as I thought it would be! So far I've lost 14 lbs... more than my 10 days on HCG, and this is way easier and I don't think about food all day. Plus, I didn't get sick like I did on HCG. Yay!

Day 5: Lunch: Bratwurst on bread, 4 bites; Snickers 1 bite
Dinner: Schwan's breaded chicken 4 bites; Stove Top Stuffing 1 bite

Day 6: Lunch: Wendy's grilled chicken wrap w/ranch 5 bites (maybe 6, I lost count because I was gabbing with my daughter!)
Dinner: Turkey & swiss sandwich, 5 bites
No sweets today... NEVER EVER thought that would happen!

Day 7: Weight 238.2

You are doing fantastic! I agree- I NEVER thought I could ever get to a point where I am not thinking about food all day long- but this really changes your hunger level and your craving for sweets! I used to eat a few pieces of candy every night- but haven't had ANY in three weeks and I don't care!!! I am way more interested in eating protein for my bites or something I know will make me full- instead of the candy- so that's great! Although I must say- I might do just 5 bites of a Sprinkles cupcake one day- THAT would be worth it! Haha- have a great day- you are doing wonderful- keep your spirits high!!!'

Well- I'm doing not-too-shabby ! I am down 20 pounds- and it's been 23 days for me. So that's good- but the first 14 came off SUPER fast - the last six not so fast! Haha- but it's been super easy honestly and I don't feel hungry anymore and that is such a blessing! This forum really helps- you want to keep posting! It's nice to encourage each other and complain when we want to! Haha- have a great day M!

Day 7 - Lunch: 4 bites chicken on a biscuit; 1 bite Snickers
Dinner: 5 bites Arby's roast beef sandwich

Day 8 - went up .7 lbs. to 239 lbs. Odd...

Lunch: Snickers bar
Dinner: 5 bites Manwich on a piece of bread

I asked my husband to hide the scale from me for the next 2 weeks. I really need to stay on plan, and I know that weeks 2 and 3 can slow down or stop in the weight loss department. When that has happened with me in the past and on other diets, I totally blow it and Tim Horton's sees me every day, erasing any progress I've made. I get really frustrated really quickly, so I figure no news is good news, at least until my body kicks back in with the weight loss.

That's a great idea Maria! You seem to be doing great- I ALSO need to hide the scale. I was able to keep off of it in the beginning- but now I'm back to my addictive ways!! I think I will try to stay off till next wed! That will be my goal! Let's see how long we can go without getting on! That will be our new challenge! Haha- great job Maria! Keep 5-biting!

I'm back and I hunted down the scale... so much for keeping it hidden for 2 weeks! I got through almost a week, though, and that's pretty good for me. I dropped some weight, but as expected, it slowed down in week 2, and that's okay. I'm fine with it (although another 14 lb. loss would have been super awesome!)

Day 12 (Fri May 23): lunch: Lunchables crackers with turkey & cheddar, 5 bites
dinner: italian sausage link, 5 bites

DAy 13: (Sat May 24): lunch: Lunchables crackers with ham & swiss, 5 bites
dinner: Marion's pizza (OMG!) I put 5 little squares on my plate, which I think was 7 or 8 bites. I was trying to not take huge
bites because I was at a family gathering, so some of my squares I had to take 2 bites on.

Day 14: (Sun May 25): Weight: 232.6 lbs., down 6.4 lbs. this week! Whoop whoop!

Maria! 20 pounds! So awesome! Good for you! Yesterday I took two extra bites for the first time ever - and I ended up gaining a pound. Which I'm sure I really didn't do- I just am making myself believe that is the reason. It was two bites of brussel sprouts( but with a sugary syrup and bacon- hardly low fat! Haha)- but I am back on track today! No more extra bites!! Congrats - you are doing great!

thanks so much! I think we all need a little extra bite now and then. It keeps us from binging. I'd much rather have 2 extra bites than 2 extra slices of pizza, bowls of ice cream, cupcakes... you get my drift! LOL!

Mon. May 26: lunch: 5 bites chicken strips/mac & cheese
dinner: there's a story! lol! my husband and I went out to celebrate our anniversary. we picked out a restaurant and I picked out my meal beforehand. we drive there, and they're closed for Memorial Day. D'oh! So my husband mentions that my favorite restaurant, J Alexander's, is down in the area, too. I had forgotten about them. So we went, and I went waaaay over my five bites, but not as overboard as I would have before 5B... so I consider this dinner out a moderate success. Before 5B I would have ordered a steak, loaded baked potato, salad, baked mac & cheese, and dessert, and eaten it all! This time I ordered a french dip sandwich and the white cheddar baked mac & cheese side (OMG!) I ate about 10 bites of the sandwich and all of the mac & cheese (10 bites, I think). Thank goodness we don't go there very often ($$)... it's an "anniversary" kind of place! So I weighed myself the next day just to see where I was and gained about 1.5 lbs, not too bad.

Tue. May 27: weight 234.2 (up a little from the night before)
lunch: snickers bar
dinner: corn 1 bite; pizza casserole 4 bites

Wed. May 28: weight 232.6 (getting back on track)
lunch: 3 bites ham & cheddar chunks; 2 bites almonds
dinner: 5 bites lunchables turkey, cheddar, crackers

Thu. May 29: lunch: 5 bites italian sausage link
dinner: 4 bites Wendy's Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger; 1 bite birthday cake Timbit (OMG!)

Fri: May 30: lunch: 5 bites chicken & biscuit
dinner: 5 bites spaghetti & meatballs

Sat: May 31: lunch: 5 bites Arby's Jr. roast beef sandwich
dinner: 5 bites bratwurst on bun

Sun: June 1: weight: 229.2!!! Down almost 3.5 lbs. from last week, which is a slow down, but at least I know why. On to week 4!

only down 2 lbs. this week, but I know why! My binge earlier in the week slowed me down and made me feel sick and achy for two days. Never again! So down to 227.2, surprised that I lost at all!
I joined a diet bet that starts tomorrow, if I lose at least 4% of my body weight in 30 days, I win some $$! Definitely doable on this plan. Maybe gambling will keep me in line! LOL!
Have a great week, everyone!
