alisa's journal

Post  j on Sun May 30, 2010 6:08 pm

I was on the five bite diet last year and I went from 176 to 134 from August 2009-January 2010.
Today after too much--very, very fun--summer partying, I'm back to 142.
On the diet I go.

Day 2: May 31, 2010

Post  j on Mon May 31, 2010 5:56 pm

I didn't weigh myself today. I remember reading in the 5 Bite book that people who weighed themselves once a week actually had better results.
I did strict ten bites yesterday. My head hurt, but that was the only bad side effect.
I exercise (jogging) for 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week. I did it last night and it helps with cravings, for me personally.
Tip: For anyone who lives near a Steak 'n Shake, their mini Shooter hamburgers are the best for serious 5 biting.

I also heard that weighing once a week is best-- but its so HARD!!! just get so desperate for the weight to go away. hahaha

the headaches come with the first few days, then once ur thru, its over and done with and i havent had any headaches at all since the first 3 days. This is the start of my 5th week now.

Day 3: June 1, 2010

Post  j on Tue Jun 01, 2010 7:32 pm

Thank you, tea. I have the same temptation to weigh myself everyday...for me, it's almost harder than resisting the food tongue
My headaches were better today. I still took some ibuprofen, though.
Last night I worked out for 30 minutes (sometimes on maintainence I used to do an hour, but being strict makes me tired, so I did 30.)
There's this restaurant near my house where you can actually get just one pice of French toast for dinner. It's amazing in this day and age that I can actually just have French toast without three sides, a salad, a cup of soup, and dessert. It's perfect for this diet, I was thrilled.

Day 4: June 2, 2010

Post  j on Wed Jun 02, 2010 5:46 pm

Resisted the urge to step on the scale again...it was hard...going out to lunch today...trying not to cheat...don't think I will, but sometimes those tacos just get to me:D

Day 5: June 3, 2010

Post  j on Thu Jun 03, 2010 5:31 pm

EPIC FAIL YESTERDAY. I cheated--starting with the tacos.
But all is not lost--maybe in the case of weight loss, that's a bad thing Smile
I still lost one pound this week. I am down to 141.
Going to try much better today.
I'm writing a novel (I started it about a month after I first started the Five Bite Diet in August) so I should go back to writing inplace of eating.
It really helped me before.

It's ok Alisa

I know the feeling and I'm sure others do too!

Don't get hung up on it and learn from ur mistakes...

Writing instead of eating sounds great lol... Distractions are good in this case

Good Luck!

Day 6: June 4, 2010

Post  j on Fri Jun 04, 2010 8:17 pm

hey, I didn't knwo there were other writers here, cool!
My novel is about vampires (it's not twilight fanfic or anything, I've actually never seen/read twilight.)
As for the dieting ... yesterday, I did pretty well. I had ten bites at each meal rather tahn five, but still much MUCH better than my epic fail day...
gonna try to keep my bite count under twenty bites per day for a while.

I have not been online in forever...I know, I know, I started college last month. I've had a lot of stress lately and I haven't been very good with my food. It's always my first response to stress...I have to wake up earlier than usual now and I have a two bite piece of mini bread in the morning.I don't think I look horrible, my clothes fit fine, thank goodness, but I want to get back into the 130s. I've been hovering at 143 for quite some time now.
Starting today, I am going to take two bites in the morning, five bites at dinner and five bites at a late night snack.

I wish you all the best luck, Jenny.
I had fifteen bites yesterday.
Feeling good about the diet, but restless and annoyed because I'm trapped in the Midwest america and I want to live in New York and someday Saint Petersburg Russia...
But I must be thin in Ny and Saint Petersburg, hence the dieting

HAHA omg ur so cute. I live in NY right now and ur absolutely right. So long story short i went abroad for school for a few years and i gained more weight than intended. By the time i came back i was like OMG i cant even go outside till this weight is off i was so ashamed, at this point btw i was by no means really fat or anything, but i was DEF unhappy with myself. On a high note tho this diet melted the extra weight in record time. 12 bites is def a great job. Keep strong, just remember 12 bites or 13 bites- its WAY less than u would have eaten if u were not keeping ur bites in mind, and the amount that u were eating before was more or less maintaining ur weight, so logically, that's a tremendous achievement towards ur weight loss goal!!!

Good job on the workout, too. I took a month off for the summer, and its hard to get back to it. I think working out keeps your metabolism up during this time when you are eating so little calories. Keep it up!!

Great job with the working out. I like to add working out to my mix of the 5BD too. I find that exercising is a good appetite suppressor for me, but maybe I am just weird.
