Hey K,

Good for you for resisting that extra bar!! I haven't spread my bites out because someone wrote on here that it tends to fuel their hunger more than just eating it and getting it over with. I also think we are trying to shrink our stomachs so it helps to give it the same amount (give or take) each time. I found that is really does come down to an adjustment thing. A few more 5-bite days without cheats will get you used to it and you will be able to do it easier and easier. I also found that what i ate for my bites was important. When I tried doing the snickers thing I just wasn't full and I think I also didn't feel like I actually "ate" a meal. I still have a box here from costco.

I try to get at least a bite of protein in my bites and some good fats (no fat free mayo- it's only 5 bites so have the good stuff) and that will help with filling fuller. In the beginning I used a lot of wraps and just STUFFED them to capacity and ate 5 huge bites. After sometime, I found that I no longer even eat wraps and I can eat a lean cuisine and actually have food left over because my bites have gotten smaller.

You are doing great. Just take it one day at a time and maybe start using some zero calorie drinks to get you through like coffee, diet soda (if you drink that), or tea.

The weekends are my HARDEST time and I need a lot of mental strength to get through them when I diet. Post often and keep busy and you will do fine.

That is great advice about the wraps, I forgot about those. I love them, but haven't eaten any in months. Will do that today. I'm going to try for a really good day today, see what happens.

You're right about the mayo, just not worth it ff. Hope you all have a nice day.

Like the Dr. says you can eat as many bites as you want...if you split your bites like that then you will shrink your stomach to only hold 2 or 3 bites but it won't work if you have more than 3 bites for lunch...I know it's tough...I've heard of some people that try eating their lunch much later around 1 or 2 and that makes it easier to hold off for dinner. Please be sure to let us know how it goes if you decide to experiment with it. Good luck!!! : )))))

Today a much better day. Managed to stall lunch until 1pm, ate dinner at 5:45...I'm good now. I would really like a glass of wine, but not worth it.

B- coffee
L- 4b of cuban pork wrap, 1 cake pop
D- 5b of some italian wrap

You were right, Alexis...those wraps are brilliant. I feel like they fill me up, and I'm getting a bit of nutrition. Thank you!
I do like pushing lunch until closer to 1, it's probably mental, but makes me feel more satisfied, and that I can make it safely to dinner.

So glad that pushing your lunch back worked for you...I had feeling that would be much better for you. BTW I've been doing this for so long I have been forgetting post on my meals that I have daily nightcap...this has not affected my weight loss at all. I have vodka and club soda with a splash of diet cranberry juice every night and when I'm on plan have lately been losing a pound a day. So, I say why punish yourself, have your glass of wine I'm willing to bet you'll still lose big and it will help you be more satisfied. Also, the liquid doesn't stretch your stomach so it won't effect you hungerstat. Just sayin.....

Hi. Dismal day on my end, and I feel lousy, but oh well. New day tomorrow. I finally ordered the book, and am really looking forward to reading it as soon as rec'd.

Thanks for the advice about the glass of wine, I never thought about it as not affecting stomach size, that makes sense. Such a relief to know that you think a glass won't wreck the plan. For me, even half a glass of red is super filling and satisfying...glad I don't have to hide from it all the time.

Anyway, new day tomorrow. Yup...am not going to post cause it was sooo pathetic. On a good note, I seem to have no problem not eating until 1 every day, so I guess that's a plus.

Better day tomorrow. Goodnight, Kathryn

Kathryn,

That's right it's a new day and and your chance to eat 5 bites.. I know that things come up but the most thing to remember is we dust off and get right back to eating right. I'm glad the 1 o'clock eating is going well for you. I normal eat at 11-11:30 then again around 5pm so I'm done eating by 6 I eat absolutely nothing after 6 just my water and it seems to be going pretty well for me. Keep you eyes focused on the prize...

Don't worry about...sometimes those cheat days help us get refocused b/c you can see that it is just not worth it and sometimes that food is just a comfort, too. Enjoy your wine and it's a new day w/ 5B tomorrow!

MUCH better day today.

B- coffee
L- wh. wheat tortilla, cream cheese, olives, smoked salmon, romaine lettuce. yumm...!
D- wh. wheat tortilla, heated in ghee w/slice provolone, 3 sm slices ham, loves, bit of mayo.

Today I realized I really need to eat food that makes me happy. Did so and it went much better. Poured a small glass of wine (not one of my serious glasses), and haven't been able to finish half of it. yay!

I kept myself very busy today, which seems to be super important to my success. I don't do well bored at all. I recently joined a local garden club since I don't have any dirt of my own, and we had a work day today. Fun, but I'm pooped. : )

I read that odd article about Hungerstat today, the one by that hypnosis dude. Is that true, about the stomach shrinking in 14 days? Is that concept taken from Dr. Lewis' book?

Hope you all had a lovely day.

Kat, I'm so glad to see that you are choosing to eat foods that you love, great plan! : )))) I believe the guy who wrote that article worked with Dr. Lewis and I totally believe everything that was said in that article. I have done 14 days straight before and you can really tell the difference w/the 5 bites, you will actually feel stuffed at that point w/5 bites....but it will stretch right back out in no time if you go over 5. Glad you had your wine, too...it will help you stay on plan in the long run. I'm thinking about doing a 20 day streak challenge. Are you in????

L- grilled sausage with slice of provolone/ whole wh tortilla...
D- Whole wh tortilla, peanut butter, banana, honey w/ .25 c. wine

Tonight...too much energy from dinner, I guess. I went on a 1/2 walk around neighborhood, something I haven't done/ had the energy to do since starting this plan. It felt really good to be outside. Beautiful day here. Very Happy

Hi Debbie, I responded more on your post to your Snickers question.

Snow White- I'm sorry, I was lazy. Tort is torilla, with cream cheese. It would have been better if I left off the avocado, but it was good. Fast and easy.

I think it's like what you said, maybe I need to just concentrate on taking smaller bites, I don't know. I just don't feel like my stomach is shrinking at all, though I am definitely eating less overall, which is good.

Cops. hmmm. Honestly, it's funny I work in a PD, I am not and never have been a fan of men in uniform, which is hilarious because I spent the past 7 years working in Fire. My title is Sr. Admin Assistant; I worked in Fire as the assistant to the Fire Chief, and about 1.5 years ago, I crossed over to the dark side, and am now the assistant to our Police Chief. I'm grateful to have this job. Besides being her...yup, I said HER, secretary, I handle grant management and am starting to get into crime analysis, which is fascinating. I just wish I had more time on my hands to get deeper into it. Ask me any questions you'd like, I'll do my best to answer.

Why the intrigue with cops? Just curious. I never had that intrigue. I'm pretty sure I'm being punished for a crime I committed in a past life. They're a very tough bunch to work with. A special breed of insanity. I mean that in the best possible way. pirat

Hey, Kat...your job sounds really fun! I just love cops, law & order, mysteries, stuff like that...Criminal justice was not for me though...I did try it and Criminal Justice 101 was too graphic and it made me feel really bad about humanity...so I went into teaching instead. I wanted to help society by trying to catch them when they are still young! But I still love the idea of criminal justice...the show Lock Up, it's awesome and of course COPS! : )))))) I'm not married to a cop though, one pathetic salary is enough for this household! It must be hard working for a female police chief! I bet she's a real ball buster! ; )))))

Kat, keep up the good work lower calories will still bring on weight loss. I love a man in uniform, however I'm married to a computer science IT specialist for the bank here. Cops in Canada start out at 54k a year much better than the states. That is my field I am graduating from in June. It's called Law and security administration I'm going on to take a grad study in Victimolgy and plan to get on the police force here to work with victims. I love that field as well snow white.

Hello, ok but not fantastic day today, but it's ok. Slowly but surely.

B- coffee
L- Hanson diet soda
D- Chicken salad at Chili's- out with friends I hadn't seen in a while, so that was nice.

Not sure about weight loss, not in the mood to weigh myself, so haven't since Monday. Think I'll wait for next Monday.
I wasn't starving today; it was ok. I want to repeat tomorrow, but no restaurant. Signed up months ago for a wine tasting class, but plan to eat before that.

Yes...some of the cop stuff is interesting, I love the analysis, but have no desire to be one myself. Good thing other people have that motivation.
Hope everyone having a great night,
Kat
