does anyone know about soup?

Post  3jaysmom on Mon May 10, 2010 1:13 pm

I don't have the book, so I was wondering if anyone knew what Dr Lewis says about soup? I read that he mentioned that drinking wouldn't expand the stomach, so I was wondering about soup. I have a soup I like that is 80 cals(V8, garden broccoli, it is a full serving of veggies, too), so its not a matter of calories, but I cant imagine only eating 5 bites of soup....I was thinking If I have 2 special k bars instead of snickers, they are 80 cals less, so maybe I could have a serving of soup a few hours later, and the cals would be the same. I would appriciate any insight! Very Happy

I think it's a good idea... Since liquids don't stretch ur stomach and I imagine the bars ur eating are smaller than the snickers... So in realty I think ur stomach will shrink more then if you were eating just snickers... But this is my totally UNEDUCATED guess... Good Luck

I have read the book several times for guidance and Dr Lewis says
that only liquids with zero calories can be taken on the diet. So water, coffee,
tea (with no calorie sweetener, I use stevia), diet soda or crystal light.

The 5 bite diet doesn't count calories so the calorie content doesn't matter
it is the volume of food eaten. As I understand it no calorie liquids just flow
through your system, maybe soup will trigger our digestion or something.

I will ask Dr Lewis since I joined the slimsolution website too.

Thats awesome Shawn. I have thought about joining the website but I haven't really wanted to pay for it. Would you mind being a sort of Liaison to the Doctor for us?

I believe the soup you're referring to is just known as "clear soup"... Broth with a couple small mushrooms or mushroom slices, plus either crispy fried onion slices or scallions?
