Wow.. you are doing so great.. i am sooooooooooooooooooooo impressed.. great attitude and great getting past those first 3 ugly days of it Twisted Evil .. lol.. I hope all is still going well with the weekend.. its coming up Sunday now so just one more day.. or two and your are through.. your loss has been so great.. !!!!

Day 02= (0.0)=00.0lbs loss current weight: 144.8 (did not weigh as I wasn't sure I wanted to weigh daily)
Day 03= (1.6)=01.6lbs loss current weight: 143.2 (woo hoo! it's starting!)
Day 04= (1.8 )=03.4lbs loss current weight: 141.4 (I'm psyched! 130's here I come!)
Day 05= (0.6)=04.0lbs loss current weight: 140.8 (yay!)
Day 06= (0.6)=04.6lbs loss current weight: 140.2 (hopefully tomorrow I see the 130's)
Day 07= (1.0)=05.6lbs loss current weight: 139.2 (I'm soooo psyched!!!)

I can't believe I lost a whole lb!!!!!

Thanks ellebella, I believe I've made it through the weekend with no problems at all. I'm sooo proud of myself. I think I was making it harder in my head than it really was.

So yesterday here is my meal plan, I wasn't able to make it back on last night to post as we were outside all evening enjoying the cooler weather.

B-nothing
L- 5 bites chorizo and egg in tortilla
D- 5 bites pizza
and two glasses of wine. I did say that would be my one tweak these 20 days, a couple glasses of wine. I was kinda scared what I'd see on the scale this morning but even with the wine I lost a whole lb! Made my day for sure! So now I just gotta get through today.. my parents usually leave around noonish so well have lunch before they go but then dinner etc will all get back to normal. But all in all it's been a great weekend. I'll post my meals for today later.

Parents are safely home and all in all it was a great weekend! Only this morning did my mom notice I wasn't eating breakfast. I told her my stomach was a little queasy and I was drinking ice water to settle it and she didn't mention it again. I took all the kiddos for a walk up the creek to look for crawdeds, frogs, etc. Its always a nice little hike and the kids have a blast so it got me out of the house and my mind off of food because when I woke up this morning I was ravenous all of a sudden! It was weird, the past two days I've had NO appetite. Had to make myself eat lunch and dinner and then today it was the complete opposite, hungry hungry hungry. So I downed extra water, went for that walk etc and it helped.
Then my parents headed out around noon and I had my lunch and now I had dinner so I'm feeling ok right now so hopefully that hunger is under control again and tomorrow will be easy again.
So here are my meals today:

B-nothing
L-5 bites sweet taco
D- 4 bites leftover chorizo/egg in tortilla 1 bite chocolate donut.

So now I'm looking forward to this coming week. My losses always slow down in week two but I still think I can lose another 4.4 lbs within the next 13 days. I'm optimistic Smile So I'll keep on keeping on What a Face

You are soooooooooooooooooo going to make it.. !!!!! Where do you live that you could go hiking? We love to hike.. but its soooooooooooo hot we can not ,. we end up so heat sick.. lol.. Ok so I weighed in this morning and was up .8 lbs.. which is weird because as you saw I've been spot on with my bites. Maybe it was the hike in the heat, causing some retention? but you know, since I know it had nothing to do with diet I'm not gonna sit and wonder about it.. I'm sure it will be off in no time. I'm so proud and excited to see where this week leads me. I only have 12 more days of this challenge and I'm excited about each and every one of them. I need 5.2 lbs off now to hit my 10 lb goal but I'm still optimistic Smile

Ellebella, I live in arkansas and we've had a weird cool down this past week to temps back in the 80's so perfect hiking weather. I live in a tiny rural town of 700 people with the ozark mountains surrounding us so lots and lots of rivers, creeks, forest etc to hike through. Its the main reason we moved here, the scenary and area is just gorgeous. We have huge bluffs and caves and so much water everywhere that its so serene. Plus I'm only 30 minutes from the city so I can still shop and enjoy some entertainment when we want to. The best of both worlds! lol

Actually TOM started the day I started this challenge, lol so I know it's not that. I was losing great despite TOM so now yeah it would have to be sodium or something else but I was thinking back on the last couple of days and I've kinda gotten lazy on my water intake. So today I'm making myself get in extra water. We'll see if it makes a difference by tomorrow or not Smile I'm gonna go back through my journal on my first round of 5 bite and see what week two looked like.. if it's similar then I will know it's just how my body reacts during week two.. let me go read it.. brb...

oh my!! going back to the beginning of my journal was eye opening! ok so as soon as I lost 5.6 lbs my first 7 days I had.. yes look at this.. a .8 lb gain.. exactly like this time! then I went down .4 and I stopped weighing daily.. on day 14 I was only down .8 lbs.. so that whole second week I only lost .8 in all.. sigh.. looks like the pattern is repeating.. but the good news is, the first time around it disheartened me so much on day 14 I went off plan.. got back on two days later but I went off.. this time that isn't gonna happen.. so this time I get to see what day 15 and 16 etc brings. I might only lose .8 lbs this week (I'm crossing my fingers for more but you never know) but if not then that is ok, we'll see what week 3 brings with NO off plan eating this time.. so I'm staying positive!! Smile but seeing that pattern was kinda shocking to me, lol

Im with you all the way honey.. I am starting back with 30 bites throughout the day.. more detailed on my post.. but this works both for me and the dr's.. I also find that with 30 I lose and keep losing.. I think it might be my body does not think I am in starvation mode.. I read, (way back when) a group of office friends did the 5 bite challenge all week Sun-Friday.. then on Sat they went nuts eating as much as they wanted.. they always lost around 4lb a week.. they treated the plan like calories shifting.. might try it myself...hmmm Anyways, they said when they ate as much as they wanted they still did not eat much as their stomaches had shrunk..lol.. Real life is kind like that.. eat small all week then go out for dinner on the weekend.. hmmm .. Anyways I wish you great luck with staying the coarse.. and I am here!! cheers

I pretty much did that the first time around.. after my first 14 days then I'd take a day or two off on the weekends and it slowed my losses to 1-2 lbs a week but it was consistant. But this time I just wanna do it right since I'm only doing this for 20 days.


My meals today:

B-nothing
L- 5 bites spaghetti
D- 5 bites sweet taco

All in all a very good day. Drank extra water to see if that might help with my losses. We'll see in the morning Smile

So its been a great day for bites.. I'm not very happy with the scale but what can I do except keep pluggin on.. I'm trying my best to stay positive and look forward. I just hope that any day now I'm gonna keep headed DOWN so keeping my fingers crossed as I'm doing everything right. Now it's just my bodies turn to figure out that Im not starving it so it will continue to lose. But just 10 more days to go! starting to worry that I can't lose 5 lbs in 10 days.. sigh.. only time will tell.

138.2???? Wow!! Amazing!!! I'm so happy for you!!!

Don't forget: your body doesn't have much to lose. It's always hardest at the end of weight loss to get those last few pounds off. But you're doing SO WELL.

And, let us all learn from my recent plateau experience, that if you keep plugging, apparently your body "gets it" and just releases a bunch at one time. Looks like that's what yours just did! It will hold. You just had to break through that 139-140 plateau.

How did it go with the family visit?

Thank you so much! Yes I'm pretty excited too! Yeah according to the good doc I could get down to 108 and still be healthy but my ultimate goal is 120 so that is still 18 lbs away so I do feel close.. but still so far, lol I think after this 20 day challenge I might give myself a month break of maintaining then I'll do another 20 day challenge etc until I get to my goal weight.. so I'll be around a lot the next few months. Smile The visit with my parents went great! Only one morning did my mom notice I wasn't eating breakfast and I just said my stomach was a bit quesy and she then looked at me like skipping breakfast was the best idea ever lol so case closed. They never noticed how little I ate at lunch or dinner as I made sure I was up and down a lot helping with the kids or dishes etc so it went perfectly! I felt no pressure and as everyone was pigging out on pizza etc I enjoyed my 5 bites and felt so satisfied, no bloating, no fatigue from eating too much, I felt fantastic all weekend. Even went for a hike before they left and had a great time. So I think I was making it much bigger in my head then what it was in real life. I am slowly teaching myself that you do not need food to have a good time. yes social situations are fun with food but I'm not depriving myself.. enjoy those 5 bites and move on with the converation etc. Don't have to keep eating to have fun. So now the weekend is upon us again.. they are tough for me but since I only have 8 days left I know it won't be a problem.. I'm gonna end this challenge as strong as I started.. I just need to lose 3.4 more lbs in 8 days to hit my 10 lb goal.. can I do it??? well we are gonna find out!!!! cheers

YES!! You absolutely can do it!!!

Glad to hear it went well with your family. I always do that, too - make things WAY worse in my head than they EVER are in real life! But - you went in prepared. Talking about it beforehand helped you sort out your priorities, your fears. I think that's a good thing.

I also completely relate to that food = good time thing. That is a HARD one to break. Food was always my source of comfort, and when feeling uncomfortable in social situations (which is rather frequent), stuffing my feelings down helped me get by. Especially with family.

I also love the idea that you're going to do maintenance before moving on. I think that's smart. Probably makes the weight loss more effective, as well, since you're constantly switching it up and tricking your body. Truth be told, that's what I did to break my plateau. Took a few days for my body to respond, but obviously, it worked... (I didn't binge; I just ate a little more and according to clearer hunger/satiety signals).

Off to the gym!

yeah my body is so crazy I have to keep it guessing or it will never do anything. Makes it challenging for sure but that is ok, I'm one step ahead of it so far so that is good lol

I was afraid that loss of 1.2 lbs was not gonna stick.. same thing happened on day 7 and 8... lost one whole lb and the next day I was back up again...don't know why my body is doing that!
